Dr. Cajulis has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Cajulis is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the field of Cytopathlogy. He has served as Director of Cytopathology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, VA Hospital, Consolidated Pathology Consultants, Quest Diagnostics and Lake Forest Northwestern Hospital.
Dr. Cajulis has given numerous workshops and lectures worldwide emphasizing the importance of Cytopathology and Quality Management. He pioneered the application of Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization to detect pre-malignant and malignant conditions. He has written numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in major Cytology books and manuals. He has dedicated much of his career to developing novel quality management methods in reference laboratories, to enable increases in productivity while still maintaining the quality of an academic institution.
Dr. Cajulis graduated from the training programs of The University of Chicago and MD Anderson Cancer Center and is triple boarded in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology.
Mr. Villar brings to Ektelligen both law firm and corporate management experience. Mr. Villar’s experience in Corporate & Securities has made him realize that internal constituencies such as the executive team and its board of directors to investors and employees all play an integral part to the deal process. Mr. Villar has focused his corporate, transactional, and regulatory practice to primarily provide comprehensive legal services to the healthcare industry. He has advised clients on an array of issues that healthcare companies encounter including corporate and health regulatory compliance matters; operational and employment matters; fiduciary obligations of management teams and boards of directors to the corporation and to each other; healthcare joint ventures and integrated delivery systems; strategic and financial transactions; medical practice structuring, governance, and restructuring; intellectual property and fair use; corporate, real estate, finance, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, and other business transactions; general corporate matters; regulatory compliance involving Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental program laws and regulations.
Mr. Villar has substantial experience regarding health industry mergers & acquisitions; hospital/physician relationships and joint ventures; healthcare regulatory issues and restrictions involving healthcare fraud and abuse, false claims, and physician anti-referral matters and issues involving government reimbursement.
Mr. Villar holds a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law and undergraduate degree from Adamson University in Manila, Philippines. He is duly licensed in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
